Why don't new creator posts appear in your dashboard right away?

An explanation of how Carl for Social collects and processes social media data in Influencer Reporting module — and why sometimes a post published today can appear in your dashboard the following afternoon.

Written by Carl

At Carl, we want you to have the freshest possible data from the previous day, every day. That's why first thing each morning we start processing yesterday's data – so your numbers go through a thorough analysis and you always have an up-to-date, reliable overview of how your campaigns and creators are performing.

Sometimes a post that a creator published yesterday may not appear in your dashboard yet. This isn't a bug – it's related to how we collect and process social media data in Carl. This article explains how the whole process works and when you can expect new data.

Short answer

We collect and process social media data once a day. After collection, the data goes through a detailed content analysis within a few hours, and the finished data appears in your dashboards the same day in the afternoon. This means that if a creator publishes a post right after the morning collection, it may not appear in your dashboard until the following afternoon.

How data processing works

The following steps run in sequence each day. The times below are approximate and may vary slightly.

Time (approx.)

What happens

9:00 – 11:00

Collecting data from social networks (Facebook, TikTok, Instagram)

11:00

AI processing of the data begins (takes approximately 2 hours)

13:00

All metrics are calculated based on the AI analysis

14:00

Processed data appears in client dashboards

What this means for you

Because data is collected once a day in the morning, a simple rule applies: anything published on social networks after roughly 9:00 AM will appear in the dashboard the following afternoon.

Example: a creator publishes a post on Tuesday at 1:00 PM. Tuesday's morning collection has already run by then, so the post is processed during Wednesday's collection at 9:00 AM and you'll see it in the dashboard on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 PM.

Exception: YouTube

With YouTube, keep in mind that the platform provides data to third parties with a delay of approximately 2 days. Posts and their statistics from YouTube therefore appear in the dashboard somewhat later than for other networks – this is due to the platform itself, not processing on our side.

When to contact support

If a post doesn't appear even after the stated time – that is, by the next afternoon for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, or within about 3 days for YouTube – get in touch with us. We'll resolve it right away.
